 Re: Eastern Whipbird
Such a tough bird to nail Eric but youve done really well with this guy - there are a few at lamington a little tamer than normal though Ive still not had great success - I like the expression on this bird - colours in this are very typical of images taken up at Lamington
cheers

 Re: Eastern Whipbird
A bird often heard but not seen; tending to stay up the top of the canopy, so you count yourself lucky when one ventures down! Difficult conditions, but you have managed them quite well. Hearing them call when they are a matter of feet away from you is deafening!

Stay up the top of the canopy??? I think that's the wrong way round They don't venture out of the bushes Anyway, its a fantastic shot of a very elusive bird

 Re: Eastern Whipbird
Nice result, Eric. How good of him to come out into the (relative) open for you. I like the mossy perch and the colours are perfect. As David mentioned, a few do inhabit the boardwalk section at O'Reilly's and are very tame.

 Re: Eastern Whipbird
mmmm maybe one day I'll post the best I've ever managed of this guy here in the NQ rainforest... and then again maybe not. A great picture of a very difficult bird to see, let alone photograph. Well done.

 Re: Eastern Whipbird
Great capture, Eric !! Very difficult circumstances and you have done well. One day at O'Reillys I had come off the main trail and a tour was preparing to go down the trail, when two Eastern Whipbirds were chasing one another around and around fanning tails etc I didn't even get a bead on them..it still irks me. You did very well. Congratulations ! Best regards Rod Warnock

 Re: Eastern Whipbird
Great work capturing such a sneaky bird that rarely comes out inot the open. More DOF would be nice, but it doesn't bother me. Ashwin
