 Orange Chat (Epthianura aurifrons) male Stockyard Plains DB Orange Chat (Epthianura aurifrons) male Stockyard Plains DB Reserve SACanon EOS 40D Lens 100-400mm L IS USM at 400 mm ISO 400 F7.1 1/2000 fill flash 19 October 2009 Another from the series taken at Stockyard Plains west of Waikerie SA. Amazing the fineness of the twigs that these birds use as perches. Attractive enough when wind is absent but with a breeze blowing still attractive but requires some adjustment. On BPN Ofer Levy commented that the version seen above here (& on BPN same image) "Lovely shot Rod! Love the pose and food. Would crop less as bird is a bit to big in the frame as presented IMO and image quality suffers from the crop." I have posted the other version here to see the difference.
